A city in the nature

A city in the nature

One of the greatest advantages of living in Dublin is that you’re near to the sea. Indeed, 15 minutes away from the city centre, by DART or Bus, you’ll get to the sea front. It is absolutely relaxing to go there and enjoy a little bit of peace and tranquillity.

Howth is a small fishing village located on the north side of Dublin. It takes appreciatively 30minutes to get there. First thing when you arrive there, is to visit a little market where you will find some nice things to eat and especially nice little things such as handmade jewellery. All along the yachting port, there are dozens of fish restaurants. It’s also a very good spot to purchase fish. The salmon in Howth is known to be really good and cheap. Howth gives fine views of Dublin Bay and the Wicklow mountains. The cliff walk is absolutely stunning and the view is breath taking. This walk takes either 1h or 3hours for the bravest ones. We often go there on Sundays when it’s sunny.

Bray is also a great gateway from the city to enjoy some fresh air. Bray is a town in the north side of Dublin and it’s a famous destination for tourists and day-trippers from the capital. This place in much bigger than Howth and there’s a lot of activities such as horse riding, fishing or sailing club and even two 18-hole golf courses. There’s a wonderful mile-long promenade to do and of course a 7 km cliff walk which stretches from Bray Head to Greystones.

Phoenix Park

I said in another article above that Dublin counts a lot of parks and green spaces. The most famous park is of course The Phoenix Park. In fact, Phoenix Park is one of the most famous and one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces in any European capital city. It is a high place of biodiversity in Ireland. Indeed, there are a lot of animals and plant species. This park is literally in the city and so it is really easy to get there. We often go there to have sunny picnics or to watch guys playing soccer. Also, this place is famous because it contains pheasants and wild deer. Finally, the zoo is really nice and I believe it’s to be done at least once. The Phoenix Park’s zoo welcomes species such as elephants, wolves, penguins and a lot of Savannah-African’s animals.
