University of Zwickau, campus

Here you can see the main campus of Zwickau. On this one, we have our courses of economic and english. This campus is a bit outside of Zwickau (10 min with the tram).

I took 7 principal courses during the winter semester, such as:

  • Business English was a really interesting course where we discussed about the labour market, marketing, communication, consumerism... It´s the only course on two semesters. During the first one, we were evaluated by an oral exam of fifteen minutes. Mine was about the influence of e-marketing.
  • Basic Academic and Business English: this courses was easier because we worked on the basics by a lot of exercices. It was a bit repatitive sometimes but necessary to develop a good english. For the exam, we had to do a presentaion on a company (I choose Lush) and also a writting exam.
  • Public Relation and the Media was also an interesting course thank to the work we had to realized. We had to create something in relation with our lessons by group of five persons. We have chosen to created a newspaper with only fake articles such as the Gorafi in France. We wanted to do soemthing fun, but also which denounced the nonsenseand and the meaninglessness of the media. I have enjoyed the creativity part of this courses.
  • English for Tourism was a courses about rousim and we spoke about various subject. But, it was a bit boring because we were with other erasmus people who spoke english very badly. Indeed, we were principally concentraded about pronounciation exercices and basic english words. We haven´t had any final exam and we have realized two folders. One about a problematic in tourism and external impact, and the second one was a tourist guide on a specific subject.
  • Economic system: Market Economies in Comparative was a courses with only one presentation. At the beggining of the year, the teacher give us a subject and we had only presentation during the semester, no lessons. It was an oral exam of sixty minutes in english and we had also to realized a paperwork on it. My subject was: Succesful Reforms of Classical Welfare States - Sweden and Denmark in Comparison. It was a bit complicaded to found all of the academic documentation and to keep the interest of the class during sixty minutes even if we were two person per topics.
  • Emerging Market: The Case of Latin America was one of the less interesting courses to me. We were only a group of six people and it was principally based on discussion. It was really repetitive and the presentation topics weren´t interesting.
  • Health and Lifestyle was a really interesting course. We discussed a lot about the influence of the media and the marketing about the health and our body opinion. We had one or two presentation during the first part of every courses. Then, we have to read articles, analysed and debated on them.
