Zwickau, city center

Zwickau is the fourth biggest city of Saxony, and it´s approximately the same size as Evry in France. You can see by the picture the old city center of Zwickau. It´s a really nice place where they organize the Christmas market every year. There are two parks near the borders of the city center. One have a lake, and the other is across by a river. They are both really close to the students accommodations.

The city have a main train station, and we can go the biggest cities directly such as: Leipzig, Dresden or Hof. Otherwise, it´s not so far away from Berlin or Nuremberg. Also, the bus network is developed well and it´s really cheap, so it´s easy to travel from Zwickau. Otherwise, there is Blablacar.

The life is really cheap over here, especially in comparison of Paris where I come from. I think that the students have a better life quality, because the accomodation and the food are cheap. So, we still have money for activities and travelling.

All of the equipments are really recent, the library is modern and near the students accomodations.

The principal bad point of Zwickau is the week-end. During this period, student generally go back to them parents home. In fact, the city look a bit empty and it´s boring.

Zwickau is famous for two major things:

  • the automobile industry ( Audi and Volkswagen ), and the Trabant Museum
  • the Museum of Robert Schumann ( Zwickau is the city where this pianist come from )

The principal thing that I like is this city is the size. It´s really small in comparison of Paris but I appreciate the fact to don´t loose all of my free time in public transport. It´s also easier to manage sport, friend, courses and homework in one day.

People are really nice over here but only those under thirty years old speak correctly english. Otherwise it´s a bit complicaded to communicate, but not impossible.
